After the hype last week over the rumor of Jessica Biel’s dog Tina possibly killing the much younger pit bull, Tevy (we’ve been incorrectly calling the dog Tavy all this time!), we reached out to Biel’s publicist and EUREKA! We just received a very nice email from her which we’re quoting below:

Thank you for contacting us, the story you have posted is not accurate. Tevy was Jessica’s younger dog that she adopted over six months ago. Last month Tevy suffered an unfortunate accident when she was playing with a group of dogs. No one was around to witness exactly what happened, and sadly she died later that day at a veterinary hospital.

From one dog lover to another, we thank you for your concern and for thinking of her during this difficult time.

So there you have it and while we don’t know the exact details anymore than you do, what we assume here at CDW, knowing from what we’ve only witnessed in photos, Jessica looks like an extremely dedicated pet owner. It’s hard to imagine she would have put Tevy in a harmful situation intentionally and certainly, if she thought Tina had any ill-temperaments toward Tevy she would have known before now and would not have left Tevy alone if such nature had been noticed.

All we can say is how sad we feel for Tina, Jessica and of course little Tevy.
