Check out these adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels from Northern New Jersey! They’re pictured here with a buddy, Luke; after the 3 of them along with their families participated in the annual Dogswalk Against Cancer this past Sunday, May 3, 2009! Their team raised over $3000 for the American Cancer Society to help find a cure for animal and human cancers. Awesome!!!!
Lucky and Sparky are both Ruby colored Cavaliers, which is the least common coloring for the breed. Luke is a Tri-colored; the other two colors are known as Blenheim and Black and Tan.
Lucky is almost 4 years old and his auntie Lynn says he’s sweet, gentle and a cuddlbug. “He’s always on your lap and is an angel except when he sees a squirrel, and then he goes wild!” .  Well, we say , “can you blame him?”.Â
His brother, Sparky is a puppy mill puppy, rescued from a large puppymill where over 1000 pups were rescued last summer in West Virginia. Because of poor, or non-existent record-keeping, they aren’t sure about Sparky’s exact age, but at rescue was estimated to be between 10 months and a year old. He’s still full of energy and mischief; and prone to eating rocks (a learned behavior at the puppy mill from either being bored or being hungry; how sad!!!), so he has to be watched closely. But he’s got a great home now, filled with love and adventure and a big brother to teach him the right path to take!
Sounds like the two little guys are making a difference in this world and Sparky I’m sure knows what it means to need help, so he’s doing his part to pay it forward!
And that’s what makes the two little guys our TOP DOG OF THE DAY today! Congratulations!
