10 Stunning Celebrity Dog Houses You Need to See

Celebrities are almost obliged to splurge on outrageous things, and as expenses go, making sure one’s pet is happy and healthy might seem pretty minor. Not true of the celebrities snapping up these luxury dog houses, which can cost more than most of us make in a decade.

Here are 10 amazing doggie homes that have to be seen to be believed.

The Hilton Mansion

When they’re not running their own Instagram page, Paris Hilton’s dogs are living it up in a canine-sized replica of the Hilton mansion.

The 300 square foot doggie mansion was custom designed by Paris herself, with help from interior decorator Faye Resnick. The cost? A not insubstantial $325,000.

Hilton has a gaggle of pets circulating through her social media, so no one can be sure how many pooches are currently sharing the Hilton Doggie Mansion. It’s probably safe to say they’re in a more comfortable share house situation than we were in college.

Gunther III’s Miami Beach Mansion

When Countess Karlotta Libenstein died in 1991, her German Shepherd dog Gunther III inherited her entire $80 million dollar fortune. Trustees of the estate ensured he made smart investments with his money, including villas in Italy and the Bahamas.

But the most famous of his real estate purchases happened in 2000 when he dropped a cool $7.5 million on a mansion in Miami Beach. The owner of that mansion? Madonna.

Gunther III has since gone onto the big doggie mansion in the sky, but his inheritance is in safe paws. Gunther IV inherited $375 million from his father and is up to his pointy ears in steak and caviar.

The Minill Victorian Mansion

When an owl almost made off with her beloved Pomeranian, Tammy Kassis did what any rich dog lover would do. She spent $20,000 on a mini-replica of her own Victorian mansion for her pooches.

The luxury dog house has hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, air conditioning, and central heating. Chelsea, Darla, and Coco Puff each have their own bed. Oh, and their owner is in the market for a small plasma TV so that they can watch Animal Planet.

The whole affair is topped off with its very own manicured lawn with a white picket fence. These are proper suburban family dogs.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Dog House

Frank Lloyd Wright was an architect of singular vision and talent. His designs are still celebrated today for making design accessible to all.

And in 1957 he designed a dog house for his Black Lab, Eddie.

The request for the design came from Jim Berger who was then 12 years old. Wright was building Jim’s father a house, and Jim thought he’d put his paper route money toward commissioning Wright himself. The project? An abode for their black Labrador, Eddie.

Wright was a little busy building the Guggenheim at the time but did end up sending plans over the following November.

Celebrity Hacienda Dog House

Supermodel Rachel Hunter splurged $30,000 on a custom designed Hacienda dog house for her canine companion. And the good news is, you can too!

Amenities — yes, amenities — include running water, lighting, air conditioning, and heat. Each doggie Hacienda is custom made to complement the human house and grounds. And if your pet has any allergies, hypoallergenic building materials are available.

The only thing missing is the picket fence, but luckily PawCastle has you covered there.

State-Of-The-Art Gloucestershire Kennel

Two Great Danes in Gloucestershire are living in a dog house that would make Tony Stark jealous.

The state-of-the-art kennel features sheepskin-lined, temperature-controlled beds, automatic deluxe food and water dispensers, a $150,000 sound system, and a 53-inch plasma TV. Oh, and a spa.

The housewarming is definitely sorted at this estate. Or rather it would be if the two Great Danes weren’t the only ones allowed in. No really. This $250,000 doggie home comes with a retina scanner.

William Pedersen’s One Jackson Square (OJS) Doghouse

As Design Partner at architecture firm KPF, William Pedersen’s usual credits are a mite taller than the average dog house. That didn’t stop him from designing the OJS Doghouse for a charity event in 2016.

The conical shell of the house uses 57 layers of half-inch-thick baltic birch plywood CNC that have been laminated together. Topped with a flat rooftop, perfect for plantings or a pet bed, the design is both rustic and modern.

Pedersen adds that the circular shape is ideal, as it will “cradle a curled up canine in slumber”.

“Dog is a God” Dog Houses

“Dog is a God” is a line of modern dog houses built by Italian designer Marci Morosini. They range from functionally stylish, like the travel trailer Nomad dog’s house, to creations that are more artwork than dog home.

Morosini seeks to explore the position of worship our canine friends hold. He claims that the one place our dog companions belong is on a pedestal.

The Notre Palais

If you’re after a one-of-a-kind, luxury dog home, you can’t have this one because it’s bought and paid for.

The exclusive Notre Palais dog home is credited to Barbara Thulin-Joyce and sold for a non-insubstantial $5,400.

Converted from a vintage radio frame, this luxury pet abode is furnished with ultra high-end fabrics and intricate embroidery. Perfect for the dog born with a silver spoon in its mouth.

Summa Canum

The Obamas’ family dog Bo was a welcome celebrity during the family’s time in the White House. But you may not have heard he inspired an eco-friendly dog house design.

Summa Cunum, or “top dog” in Latin, was designed to be the perfect compliment to the White House itself. It’s built using Tennessee aromatic cedar trees, the same species planted by President Andrew Jackson. The use of zero-VOC paint renders it good for the environment, and your lungs.

Luxury Dog Houses Are a Booming Industry

Whether you own a million dollar dog, or just believe your canine companion is worth that much, luxury dog houses are a booming industry ripe for the spending.

But it doesn’t stop there. When your canine companion has their own canine companion, the situation may just call for an extravagant doggie wedding. John Legend certainly thought so.
